Santa for Single Moms, Christmas Event
Single Moms Sorority partnered with NewHope Church and 30 volunteers to serve over 60 homeless single mothers and their children at the Durham Rescue Mission in Durham, NC. "Santa for Single Moms" was our first event and was a complete success!! The moms were able to step away from parent duties and socialize with other moms, while being treated to some yummy holiday desserts and hot chocolate. We set up a 'Santa's Workshop' for their children to play fun games and "shop" for Christmas gifts for their mothers. The children wrapped the gifts and were able to make sure their mom received something special on Christmas. We are so grateful to the many generous givers who purchased a total of 125 gifts, blessing the moms with 2 gifts each!
